Butterfly Gorge is protected by a nature park and is 130 clicks out of Darwin. Access is via the old Stuart Highway scenic route. The access track is 4WD only and is closed through the wet season each year.

Honeymoon Bay on the NSW south coast is one of our favourite little campsites within cooee of Sydney, and it ain’t even quite 200km south of Circular Quay.
TRAIL OF THE TIN DRAGON
The 80km Trail of the Tin Dragon track is in Tassie’s northeast. It wends and wanes through the colour saturated countryside and high country rainforest between St Helens and Launceston.
CAPE RANGE NP, WA
You’re looking at a thousand-odd kilometre highway marathon to hit Cape Range National Park from Perth, but you’ll forget all that in a second once you pull up and clock your eyes on the place.
BUNDJALUNG NP, NSW
Bundjalung National Park is a gorgeous stretch of lightly trafficked coastline located250 kays south of Brisbane. You’ll make it here from the CBD in three hours on a good run.
BAY OF FIRES, TAS
The Bay of Fires Conservation area protects a 50km swathe of coastline between Eddystone Point and Binnalong Bay and is home to some of Tassie’s finest coastal campsites.
