HILUX 2020 FACELIFT

The Hilux, refined.

Toyota has announced several updates to HiLux designed to improve the performance, handling and visceral appeal of Australia’s best-selling vehicle. All marques from WorkMate to SR5 grades will go on sale from 27 August.

At the top of the list is performance. While the upgraded 2.8L turbodiesel may not offer the greatest displacement in its class, a raft of changes has been implemented to lift maximum power to 150kW and peak torque on automatic models to 500Nm, which are class-leading figures.

Other reported updates include a retuned chassis and steering system for better unladen handling at all speeds, an updated 8″ display with tactile knobs and Apple CarPlay integration and new instrument dials with a digital speedometer.

Braked towing capacity is 3500kg in 4×4 variants, with 4×2 variants getting an increase in capacity up to 2800kg.

The new range starts at $23,590, but we’re still waiting on final pricing for the HiLux Rogue and HiLux Rugged X editions.
