LandCruiser Mountain Park is a vaunted name in southeast Queensland 4WDing circles. It’s gotta rate in just about every Sunshine State offroader’s top five spots for a weekend getaway.

There’s plenty to love. The park is privately owned and run so the atmosphere is relaxed and you can camp just about anywhere on the property.

It’s only 160km from Brisbane, so well within the sphere of easy accessibility. It’s even close enough for a daytrip if you’re really short on time but desperate to get the wheels spinning!

There are over 200km of specially designed 4WD tracks available to suit all drivers from green novices through to seasoned offroad veterans.

The park is the perfect place to test and build your offroad driving skills as you negotiate hills and gullies, washouts and creek crossings.

4WDING: There’s plenty to keep all drivers entertained. A handful of beginner grade tracks are perfect for a warm up, while there’s no shortage of tricky to downright crazy rocky, rutted and slippery slopes and ascents upon which to put your driving skills to the test.

EVENTS: There are a range of events held at the park throughout the year including the popular SSS Winch Challenge, the Elements Festival and more.

LOCATION: 160km from Brisbane via the Bruce Highway, take the Caboolture/Kilcoy exit and follow the D’Aguilar Highway to Kilcoy. From Kilcoy, take the Kilcoy/Murgon Road to Jimna.

CAMPING: Available throughout the park. Toilets and hot showers are available at Cowah Falls, Trakka Terrace, The Gums and Fig Tree camping areas. Firewood is available throughout the park, but campers must bring their own drinking water. Basic supplies are available at the park office.

FUEL is available at Brisbane, Caboolture, Kilcoy, Woodford.
